Accuracy

ACCURACY ON THE LENGTH OF CHAIN
The finished chain, non-lubricated, to be measured must be supported throughout its length and subjected to a load equivalent to about 1% of the minimum breaking load. The degree of precision of the chains differs in function of the types:
  • Agricultural chains (ISO 487).
The length must be equal to the nominal length, with deviation limit of 0 / +0.30%, which is equivalent to 0 / +3 mm / mt.
  • Transport heavy chains (ISO 1977).
The length must be equal to the nominal length, with deviation limit of 0 / +0.25%.
  • Precision roller chains, short pitch (ISO 606).
Precision roller chains, long wheelbase (ISO 1275).
Precision chains, bush, short wheelbase (ISO 1395).
The length must be equal to the nominal length with deviation limit of 0 / +0.15%.
In contrast, for the same chains but with couplings (hollow pins or fins), the length must be equal to the nominal length with deviation limit of 0 / +0.30%.
  • Fleyer Chains (ISO 4347).
The length must be equal to the nominal length with limit deviation of ± 0.25%.

DEGREE OF PAIR OF CHAINS

The coupling is a further operation which follows the pre-stretching and that is to select clips from chains that have a linear development comprised within a certain range, and which will form the chain links arranged in parallel for particular applications which require a 'high accuracy in linear movement.

The degree of precision of the coupling can be of a standard type which is carried out manually (Mating visual), or with digital equipment which ensures coupling of type decimal (0 ÷ 0.10 m / mt), or type centesimal (particular needs of the customer).
